Team Axis Climbs at Boulder Movement

We caught up with Team Axis to hear more about their experience climbing as a team here.

Team Axis Climbing at Boulder Movement

Tell us more about your company?

Team Axis is a sports event management company established in 2009. We want both children and youth to have a positive experience in sports and continue participation throughout their lives.

Our office is located at Ubi.

How did you discover Boulder Movement?

We sent out emails to a few gyms to enquire about bouldering. Patrice from Boulder Movement did a good job introducing the gym to us. We got a thorough introduction regarding what the 1 hour Basics of Bouldering class would entail.

What were you hoping to get?

We are beginners, so we do not know what to expect. We wanted to focus on one activity – bouldering, instead of going to a facility where we could be distracted by the top-rope or the auto-belay. It is also difficult to interact with and cheer for your colleague when they are high up on a wall.

What did your team learn?

We are happy that everybody learned something. We could have just came and tried it for ourselves, but that wouldn’t be as fruitful as attending a class. We are all beginners, so we really appreciated the guidance. We now have a clearer idea on what bouldering is about. We learned problem solving skills, and our misconception that bouldering is only about brute strength is busted. Legs are as important as arms in driving the movement.

We like that the facilities are good. The showers are clean and well-maintained, perfect for freshening up after our climbs. The gym feels really comfortable. Patrice is warm and welcoming, and put us at ease quickly.

We will introduce this activity to our colleagues and friends for sure!
